Flair Bartender in Miami
A bartender who mixes your drinks while juggling bottles and shakers: a live show at your bar. Available in Spanish, English or bilingual.
What is a flair bartender?
Flair bartending (also called acrobatic or show bartending) is the art of mixing drinks while performing tricks with bottles, shakers and glasses: spinning, tossing and catching, sometimes with fire or smoke. It is service and entertainment at the same time.
Flair, classic or mixologist?
Classic bartender
Serves drinks quickly and reliably. The right choice when you need a well-run bar and no show.
Flair bartender (show)
Mixes while performing bottle tricks. The bar becomes the entertainment: ideal for birthdays, corporate events and private parties.
Mixologist
Focuses on craft cocktails and ingredients, not acrobatics. Choose it when the drink itself is the star.
A short history
Flair is older than most people think. What we can confirm from reliable sources:
- Late 19th century: Jerry “The Professor” Thomas, the earliest recorded flair bartender, poured streams of flaming whisky and created the Blue Blazer.
- 1980s: T.G.I. Friday’s helped turn flair into a craft. At the end of 1986 it hosted the first national flair bartending competition, and in 1991 it launched a global one, the World Bartender Championship.
- 1988: the film “Cocktail” brought flair to a mass audience. John “J. B.” Bandy, a flair champion, trained Tom Cruise and Bryan Brown for it.
- Today: according to GigSalad, Miami is the city in Florida with the most requests for flair bartenders, mainly for birthdays, corporate events and house parties.
What to expect at your event
